So I’ve decided to blog about movies, new or old, replayed or not, in dvd or in cinemas, that I have recently seen.
The latest that I have seen was American Reunion. I didn’t see it on-screen because I knew there will be a lot of cut scenes in it- given that I’m residing in a rather conservative country that does not support breast, vagina and penis exposures. I saw it on DVD instead.
It has been a decade since the last American Pie original cast’s posting. After the American Wedding, they took a long break from the all the action, if you know what I mean, and now they are back with an older yet still silly version of themselves.
The boys have grown-up- it’s what the plot obviously wants to make us realize in this movie. Their struggle to still fit-in, look cool and retain sex appeal was absolutely evident.
So what happened to everyone?
Jim already has a kid with Michelle. They are having trouble with their sex life since then.
Oz is on TV and is hot but is unsure whether that job is what he really wants or he’s just pressured with his girlfriend’s standards.
Finch is having work issues and all so he masked the truth about his status to everyone.
Kevin grew some beard.
and Stifler is still the same old Stifler in high school. He somehow managed to become a kiss-ass to his rich dorky boss.
Getting the girl and getting themselves laid as the main goal of the movie has not changed for this movie. But since they already are not teenagers anymore, a deeper goal for each character has been established aside from the ones that I mentioned in the previous sentence. If you want to know what those are, refer to what happened to everyone. You go figure, I know you’re smart enough. :p
I missed these guys- their humor and everything that went along with each character. The other American Pie presentations did level with the original, especially The Naked Mile, but seeing all of them again gives an extra inch of smile on my face. Jim and Stifler are still hilarious as hell.
The barrage of tits and penis (yes singular ’cause it was just shown one time) are still there but not as much as before though. Nevertheless, I bet guys will still enjoy the sight of it. I could still consider it as a chill and anti-stress movie that you should not miss.
